Professional Background
Maddy has a background in public health and community development. Her approach to evaluation is guided by principles of social justice and viewing health and social issues through a systemic lens. Since joining FPC in 2020, she has worked on projects spanning primary prevention, mental health, emergency management and gender equity.
Maddy has experience working with a range of stakeholders across different sectors including culturally diverse communities, government agencies and non-profit organisations. She is committed to working purposefully and collaboratively with clients to ensure outputs are useful and align with the needs and priorities of the communities they support.
Previous Experience
Prior to joining First Person Consulting, Maddy was employed as a Project Coordinator with the Australian Multicultural Foundation where she coordinated community-based projects. This included co-designing several initiatives with diverse community groups, government departments and community organisations.
She has also undertaken research roles with UnitingCare Hotham Mission, providing her with experience across different sectors and a deep understanding of community-centred approaches to complex social and health issues.

Leading ongoing evaluation of mental health reform initiatives, focusing on system-level changes and community outcomes across the North Coast region of NSW using developmental evaluation practices.
BEING Leadership Academy Evaluation
Led evaluation of a pilot training program for people with mental health issues and/or psychosocial disabilities in NSW. Conducted qualitative interviews using trauma-informed approaches, demonstrating positive program impact that encouraged further funding.
Whittlesea Food Collective Evaluation
Evaluated innovative food security initiative addressing local needs through equitable and sustainable food systems. Conducted consultations with diverse community members including those with complex health issues.
Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing Support Service
Evaluated a rapid-response mental health service developed during COVID-19 peak. Conducted sensitive interviews with service users, demonstrating service value and informing Commonwealth expansion decisions.
HoMie Pathway Alliance Evaluation
Assessed impact of certified education and employment program for young people aged 18-25 affected by homelessness. Provided practical recommendations that informed future program delivery and measurement.
Wooroloo Community Recovery Program
