Play. Listen. Learn.

At FPC, we recognise that context is key, and that context extends to how we learn. We strive for new ways of creating space for learning, reflection, and growth. These are some of our most recent examples where we have done just that - with some of these freely open to everyone!

The Systems Sandbox Podcast

FPC was engaged by VicHealth to design and implement a systems thinking capacity support program for local government. Systems thinking as a phrase has never been more mainstream. For many, the challenge is finding ways to cut through the concepts and abstract language and grounding it in their own work.
While we knew that the 'usual' approaches of workshops and other sessions would still feature, we wanted a means of reaching staff in ways that meant they weren't required to sit at their computer or in a workshop.
We developed and produced The Systems Sandbox to complement our other approaches. It is freely available to all.

You can find The Systems Sandbox on all podcast platforms. Use the below links to find it on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, use the player to the right, or search "The Systems Sandbox" wherever you listen to podcasts.

Catalyst: The Systems Thinking Strategy Game

Catalyst was developed to solve a common problem we find in our work - people want to learn how to think systemically, but don't know where to start. The range of materials and courses online can be overwhelming - particularly when you don't have something to hand to apply it to.

By taking a tactile process (cards) and blending it with engaging gameplay Catalyst provides an accessible introduction to systems thinking without overwhelming players. Designed for groups of 3-5 people, you can use it as an icebreaker activity, a low-tech way to introduce systems thinking to organisations, or as a way to bring your team together to learn new ways of approaching problems and opportunities.

Suitable for any context, context area, and all levels within organisations and teams. It's a fun and engaging process with a round taking approximately 10 minutes. All copies of Catalyst are printed in Australia to reduce emissions from unnecessary shipping.
